HAM Operators
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
This is a placeholder for volunteers from Paso Robles Amateur Radio Club. You will be assigned to an aid station (please indicate in the comment if you have a preference on which aid station) or to the Festival (Net Control). You will be contacted by the Comm Boss with your assignment.
On-Course Moto
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
On-Course Moto provide various services on course. Chris Black is the Moto Captain. If you have not been recruited by Chris, please contact marshal@bikemonkey.net for more information on how to connect with Chris. A Stipend of $200 will be provided.
SAG Driver
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
You will drive (in your own vehicle) assigned sections of the course to provide assistance to distressed riders if needed, relay messages to riders, shuttle riders to aid stations and generally be eyes on the course. Personal vehicles will be used, and must be able to reliably transport at least 2 bicycles. You must provide valid driver's license and auto insurance. Specific assignments will be arranged by the SAG coordinator. Strong SAG qualifications include being a mechanic, an EMT (both is great), or a HAM operator, and/or having previous event experience driving SAG.
SAR / EMS
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
This is a placeholder for volunteers from SLO SO Search and Rescue. Your specific assignments will be provided by the SAR leader.
Aid Station #1 - Templeton Library
8:15 AM - 1:15 PM
Shift Location: 35.543307, -120.709214 Shift Description: Please go directly to your aid station location on Saturday morning. Volunteers will help with a variety of tasks -- set-up, assembling snacks, keeping drinks stocked... generally just remaining flexible and available to make sure our riders get what they need (drink or food). You may want to bring your own: camp chair, sunscreen, hat, snacks / lunch, speaker for music, and water. Volunteers are welcome to snack on aid station food and utilize the water supply.
Aid Station #4 - Santa Rita Rd. (WATER STOP)
10:45 AM - 3:00 PM
Shift Location: 35.502694, -120.803342 Shift Description: This aid station is located at the top of the Santa Rita Road climb and will provide riders with simple snacks and hydration, nothing fancy. Volunteers will provide primarily hydration and some quick snacks, and help with set up and tear down. Please go directly to your aid station location on Saturday morning. You may want to bring your own: camp chair, sunscreen, hat, snacks / lunch, speaker for music, and water. Volunteers are welcome to snack on aid station food and utilize the water supply.
Bike Wash @ Sunken Gardens
11:30 AM - 2:00 PM
Help out at our bike wash station as riders cross the finish line! Expect to maybe get down and dirty with water and soap.
Aid Station #5 - Templeton Library

Flagger at Finish Line *CRITICAL*
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
This is a critical position! You will be at the intersection of East Mall & Palma Ave., stopping vehicle traffic coming from East Mall (one way street) when riders are crossing the finish line (on Palma Ave.), to make sure the riders can make a safe turn into Sunken Gardens. Please check in 10 min before your shift at Volunteer Check In (black "Bike Monkey" tent a the corner of West Mall & Palma Ave.) to get a vest and a flag. Shifts are 2 hours long, but you are welcome to sign up for one than one!
Hospitality Team / Floaters
2:30 PM - 6:00 PM
Help the Bike Monkey crew with any hospitality / event needs at our post-ride festival in the park! Heavy lifting may be required. Be sure to bring water, a hat, gloves (if you have them), and sunscreen.

Podium Ceremony (Prize Runners)
4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Assist Festival Director during Awards Ceremony and run prizes to the podium for each category (3 to 5 people per podium).
Venue Take-down
5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
**Power shift** Help Bike Monkey staff take down the timing tent and festival venue. Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. Wear close-toe shoes and bring work gloves if you have some.
